Day Trip

Went to Louisville with the family today, to see the Titanic exhibit at the Science Center before it moved on. And to visit visit a real live music store: Ear Xtacy. We got up very early. I made two mini bagels (each with half a slice of cheese, one fake bacon strip, and half an egg) for me and my husband. I also had a handful of fresh raspberries. At the museum I snacked on a chocolate chip granola bar. And for lunch we went to BoomBozz Taphouse and stuffed ourselves on pesto pizza, cheese bread, and toasted ravioli. Plus beer. Of course. On the way home I shared a large Coke, mainly in an effor to curb my coming headache. Probabaly won’t do dinner. And I plan on having the pizza leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

I need a cookie intervention.

Cookies.  Cookies.  Pizza.  Cookies.  Pizza.  Cold pizza.  More cookies.  But let’s not talk about me (ducking behind the couch in embarrassment).  How was your day?

Yats!

Yummy!  I went to a local Cajun restaurant yesterday.  One of my favorite places.  Got the B&B (which I think stands for black bean).  I planned on only eating half and saving the other half for today.  But it was so delicious, and it had been so long since I’d been there, that I ended up eating the entire thing.  And I ordered it “loaded” (with onions, sour cream and cheese).  Skipped dinner though.  That counts for something, right?

Hurray!

Stepped on the scale this morning.  It read 169.5 pounds.  I was only one day late hitting that particular minigoal (of getting below 170lbs).  Yippee!  I haven’t seen the scale read less than that in quite a long time.

Uh, yesterday I wasn’t terribly good as far as food is concerned.  I had a granola bar for breakfast.  Followed by black coffee and half a package (box) of Lemon Chalet Creme cookies.  Then for lunch I had veggie patty sandwich from Subway with (lettuce, tomato, black olives, cucumbers), followed by Venti Non-Fat Rasperry White Mocha from Starbucks.  Then the late late afternoon I had two servings of string cheese.

The Scale: 170.5

Bummer.  I was hoping for more.  But I suppose 1 1/2 pounds isn’t terrible.  It is a loss, after all.  I just really wanted to get below the 170 mark.  But hey!  I’ll do it next week.  Besides, I really worked out a lot harder during Week One than I did during Week Two.  Just goes to show that for me, it’s more about the exercise than the food.  Though, I do love food.

Garlic Night

We used to call it Spaghetti Night.  But what with all the garlic involved, I’m thinking of renaming it Garlic Night.  Garlic bread. Garlic mashed potatoes with fresh garlic chunks sauteed in olive oil.  And a garlic and olive oil spaghetti sauce to go over the pasta (tonight we had long–spaghetti length–fusilli pasta).  We love vampires, but we love our garlic, too!

I am stuffed!  So as soon as I finish this post, I’m off to do twenty minutes on the icky old stationary bike.

I am woman!

Rooooaaaaaar!

I don’t know why I don’t box more often.  I just LOVE the Gold’s Cardio “game” on the Wii.  I’m sure real boxing is harder.  But this always gets me sweating and makes me sore for days.  Oh yeah…that’s why I don’t do it more often!  Ha!  Just finished 20 minutes of Wii boxing.  A guilty reaction after eating a warm brownie and a glass of skim milk when the kids all got home from school.

Last Chance Workout

I am enjoying the Winter Olympics.  But I really miss The Biggest Loser.  It’s motivating.  And I need motivation.  My scheduled weigh-in is tomorrow morning, so I’ve been thinking of today as my “Last Chance Workout” day.  Seems to be working: I’ve been very very good today.

For breakfast I had a homemade bacon (soy), egg, and cheese bagel and unsweetened iced tea.  For lunch I snacked on cocoa roast almonds, a low-sugar chocolate chip Quaker granola bar, and 1/2 cup of fresh blackberries and some more tea.  Right after lunch I got on the stair stepper and did 2613 steps in 30 minutes while Ziggy took his nap.  Hopefully, I’ll get some additional exercise in later this evening as well.

Sushi

I love vegetarian sushi.  Definitely one of my top ten favorite things to eat.  I have a great book on making sushi, but have yet to try it.  I really need to get a rice cooker and start making this on my own.  Especially since one of my kiddos loves it too (she will fight me for my sushi if she sees it).

For breakfast I had just a single serving of Wild Blueberry Muffin oatmeal.  Plus some unsweetened iced tea and black coffee.  For lunch, veggie rolls.  Yum!  With enough wasabi to make my nose run and my eyes water.  I am normally not a fan of spicy foods.  My husband can eat super hot Indian and Mexican foods.  But doesn’t like wasabi.  I, on the other hand, do not enjoy spicy hot Indian or Mexican dishes (mild is fine), but love love love my super spicy wasabi.

Lazy Day

It was a lazy, lazy, lazy day.  The girls spent more than half the day locked in their closet playing with Barbie dolls.  I was working on a crochet project, they boy was cleaning his room, and the man was working on his robot guitar (turning it from a righty to a lefty).  It was very very quiet in our house.  Most unusual.

I did leave early in the morning to do my weekly grocery shopping.  Felt terribly nauseous while there so I went up to the snack bar and got a medium Cherry Coke.  Later, after unpacking all the groceries, I tried the new Wild Blueberry Muffin oatmeal that I’d purchased.  It was delicious.  For lunch: some Lean Cuisine stuffed ravioli dish, fresh sliced cucumber, and fresh blackberries.  In the afternoon I snacked on some cookies and drank half of a beer.  I tried to get on the stair stepper.  Twice.  I think I did two minutes the first time, and ten minutes the second time.  Ziggy wasn’t much cooperating and kept insisting I hold him whilst exercising.
